Is Text Messaging Still Valid

I don't think many people use text message as much since Facebook came on the seen. Alot of folks have been shooting videos, or twittering than sending plain on text messages seem to have become obselete. I hear to say that text messaging is still on of the many great ways to market your product or service to the public. When you are sending written wording to peoples cell phones then you are really allowing the party to slowly get connected to your brand in small baby steps.
